We are situated in Bedford Row, London WC1 which is in the Holborn area close to the High Court and the Principal Registry of the Family Division. We mainly handle cases in Central and Greater London but if you live or work in, or close to, London we may also be able to act for you even if proceedings are taking place in another part of England or Wales, or even if the proceedings are, or are likely  to be, in England but you live abroad;  we frequently handle international divorce cases where there is some connection with, or issue involving, England.

The firm was established in 1991 by David du Pré who was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1980 having earlier practised as a barrister . He is a member of Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association), and of the International Society of Family Law. Overall he has more than 30 years practical experience of divorce law during which time he has been involved in many demanding, and often complex, or unusual cases and, through this, has developed many useful contacts in the field of matrimonial law. He runs the firm with the assistance of his Associate, Gaye Osborne, who is also a very experienced divorce lawyer. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1982 and is also a member of Resolution as well as the Law Society's Family Lawyers panel. The firm was among the first to operate as a "niche" specialist divorce practice concentrating exclusively on Divorce and Family Law and we believe that our clients welcome the "one to one" personal and confidential service and attention which this enables us to provide while at the same time benefitting from our long experience, in Mr du Pré's case much of which was acquired working in established specialist family law departments in large firms in the City of London.

We have a broad range of clients but we do not undertake publicly funded (i.e. legal aid) cases. However, we believe that our charges are competitive, and compare very favourably with most other divorce specialist lawyers in the centre of London (of similar status, number of years experience, and expertise), and we have a reduced fee for the first hour of advice without obligation to instruct us.
